Airtricity Receives $85 Million For Texas Wind Farm

Chicago-based Airtricity Inc., the North American affiliate of Dublin, Ireland-headquartered Airtricity Holdings Limited, has obtained an $85 million equity financing commitment for its Sand Bluff wind farm projected located near Big Spring, Texas, from a group of investors led by JPMorgan Capital Corp.

According to Airtricity, its 90 MW Sand Bluff wind farm project is currently under construction and is expected to be in commercial operation during the second quarter of 2007.

"We are excited to be assisting Airtricity with the financing of its U.S. wind farm projects," says John Eber, JPMorgan's managing director for energy investments. "Once Sand Bluff is completed, it will provide the citizens of Texas with an additional 90 MW of clean renewable energy."
